Battlefield 2042 - Cinematic

Here’s a look at the cinematic for Battlefield 2042, which sets the scene for the game through a series of news reports/mission briefing segments. It’s presented in a really unique and visually exciting journey through mass amounts of data.

I really love the texture that’s created in the layers of noise and glitch effects. It works really well to tie together all the sequences. The transitions through the different pieces of stock footage is really nice and smooth too. They’ve done a great job of balancing the footage with the amount of glitch and artefacts to present just enough information to tell what’s going on, in beautifully framed visuals.

It’s nice to see the individual UI elements that form the details of the full sequences. These seemingly minor animations and details really help bring the experience to life when all stitched together.
